Week 16 Roundup: Champions crowned but division 2 wide open

Week 16 in the league delivered a mix of hammering wins and tight finishes across Division 1 and Division 2.
In Division 1 the Bulls Head A were well beaten by Lord Nelson, 457 to 527, a 70 pin margin that will sting for the home side.
George and Dragon A and Wigston and District Con Club C produced a tightly fought game, Wigston edging it in the last leg with a 435 to 431 result to claim a narrow four pins win.
South Wigston CC B ran out comfortable winners over Bulls Head Broncos 521 to 460 and confirm themselves as summer champions going unbeaten so far.
While South Wigston CC C beat out of form New Plough A 498 to 453 in a 45 pins win.
West End Club edged Blaby Whetstone Social Club 461 to 452 in a close game despite Blaby having 7 players.
In Division 2, Black Horse A Walcote topped Plough A Bruntingthorpe 451 to 401, while
the Plough B Bruntingthorpe fell to Railway Shunters 434 to 437 in a tight three pin finish.
New Plough B defeated George and Dragon B 417 to 408 which throws promotion and title race open with Lutterworth Club B moving into second place by beating Earl Shilton CC 450 to 425.
Meanwhile Railway A extended their lead at the top by beating South Wigston CC A 452 to 433.
The run-in to the end starts here with second place prize money up for grabs in division 1 while a 4 way hunt for promotion in division 2 now with New Plough B just behind in 4th with games in hand, makes things tense and exciting.
